A global dimensionDeveloping Citizenship takes young people's entitlement to education with a global dimension as a starting point. One challenge for schools is to make this entitlement a relevant reality for young people who are growing up in different and diverse localities in the UK. In meeting this challenge, Developing Citizenship draws on the global dimension present in a variety of education perspectives and interests, including those focused on children's rights and on international development perspectives.

Together, however, the perspectives can contribute to a 'core' of enquiry-based, active learning that develops students' informed views and involvement in local, national and international society.
